EnTouch Controls Debuts EnTouch Elite Wi-Fi Thermostat for Small Restaurants and Retail Outlets
RICHARDSON, Texas — EnTouch Controls recently launched the EnTouch Elite commercial Wi-Fi thermostat, the debut product for the company’s Simplified Controls Platform of energy management systems.
The EnTouch Elite is designed to help small restaurant, retail and other business owners manage their heating, ventilation and air conditioning costs. According to statistics from Energy Star, small business locations (1,001-5000square feet) use 50 percent more energy than large-sized business locations – almost 18 kWhr per square foot per year.
“EnTouch Controls’ business is to bring the benefits of energy management to small businesses and the EnTouch Elite allows us to help a whole new class of customers,” said Greg Fasullo, president and co-founder of EnTouch Controls. “It would be great to be able to impact enough businesses to change the trajectory of those Energy Star statistics. Energy providers and contractors have the access to those companies and working with them gives us a great opportunity to make that difference.”
The EnTouch Elite can be installed by a businessperson and is designed for businesses that need remote and secure temperature control. It has built in WiFi networking and a color touch screen front panel that can be secured to prevent unauthorized temperature changes.
EnTouch Elite customers can access up to 32 days of energy and runtime statistics saved on the device or using the Cloud-based EnTouch Facility Control software to control temperatures or run reports.
With internal temperature and humidity sensors, the device can support up to four zones. The thermostat can control six relays, which support three stages of heating and cooling.
EnTouch EMS customers have cut their HVAC energy usage by up to 25 percent by using the EMS to ensure proper scheduling of the HVAC, minimize user changes and ensure that HVAC systems are shut off during vacancy. In addition, the system provides the data and diagnostics necessary to detect and resolve HVAC maintenance issues early.
EnTouch Controls is distributing the EnTouch Elite through alternative energy providers and building contractors as a bundled solution to provide an advantage over competitors. The company announced its first partnership is with Green Mountain Energy Corp. and is called Smart for Small Business. The program provides an EnTouch Elite to qualifying businesses when they enroll in a Green Mountain electricity plan. The new offering is available to businesses throughout Texas.
