EVAPCO Introduces Evapcold Packaged Refrigeration System

Evapcold UnitTANEYTOWN, Md. — EVAPCO, Inc. announced the launch of the Evapcold Packaged Refrigeration System at the 2015 IIAR Conference and Expo in San Diego, California.

EVAPCO’s latest innovation in industrial refrigeration products, Evapcold is a factory-assembled, low-charge ammonia refrigeration system that requires just 2.5-3.0 pounds of ammonia per ton of refrigeration for an entire system, a fraction of the refrigerant charge associated with traditional field-built systems.

Consisting of factory-assembled, self-contained ammonia refrigeration rooftop systems designed to ship in one- or two-piece modules, the Evapcold product also offers simple plug-and-play installation and faster startups with significantly less on-site labor than its field-built alternatives. The Evapcold product includes several state-of-the-art innovations in heat transfer technology, energy efficiency and microprocessor control for reliable low-charge operation.

With these main benefits, the Evapcold Packaged Refrigeration System enables engineers to apply cost-effective ammonia refrigeration systems on retrofit applications, building expansions and new facilities while complying with increasing local and federal regulations for safe ammonia use and meaningful refrigerant charge reduction.

“With demand for ammonia and other natural refrigerants still on the rise, increasing regulatory pressure continues to adversely impact owners of ammonia refrigeration systems,” said Kurt Liebendorfer, vice president, EVAPCO. “The Evapcold Packaged Low Charge Refrigeration System offers our customers peace of mind, as they now have a cost-effective, energy-efficient and easy-to-install solution that significantly reduces their risk.”
