York LX Series Residential Gas Furnaces Combine 2-Stage Comfort, Efficiency of ECM Motor

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The all-new York LX Series TM8Y and TM9Y residential gas furnaces from Johnson Controls combine the comfort of two-stage heating with the efficiency of a standard ECM motor. Subject to advanced manufacturing processes and more than 125,000 hours of rigorous testing, the units deliver reliable performance and efficiencies up to 80 and 96 percent AFUE, respectively, for energy savings of 20 and 37 percent, when compared to older 60 percent AFUE models. The TM9Y model is Energy Star rated.

Both furnaces are factory shipped for up flow or horizontal applications and can be converted for down flow applications. Easily accessible controls and no knockouts simplify installation. The units’ compact, easy-to-install 33-inch cabinets fit in tight spaces, allowing for installations in basements, attics, recreation rooms, garages, alcoves and closets.

Built-in, high-level self-diagnostics with a fault code display simplify servicing; an electric hot surface ignition conserves fuel for increased dependability and reliability and a 100 percent shut-off main gas valve provides extra safety. The high heat transfer aluminized steel tubular heat exchanger has a lifetime limited warranty, and both furnaces feature York’s industry-leading five-year complete assurance limited warranty, which provides optional furnace replacement in the event the heat exchanger fails within five years of installation.
