Carrier Côr Thermostat Meets California Energy Standard

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Carrier’s Côr thermostat has recently been certified to comply with the latest California Energy Code Title 24 as an Occupant Controlled Smart Thermostat by the California Energy Commission.

A Title 24-compliant OCST must meet a number of detailed specifications intended to receive and automatically respond to demand response signals through a messaging protocol, such as Open Automated Demand Response 2.0, from utility providers.

According to the California Energy Commission, its energy-efficiency standards have saved California energy customers over $75 billion in reduced electricity bills since the 1970s.

This certification marks another step for the Côr thermostat as it recently was certified to be compliant with the OpenADR standard.
