The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials is accepting applications from technical experts to participate on the Bathroom Design Task Group. The deadline to apply is Oct. 29.
The scope of the group is to develop an appendix to the Uniform Plumbing Code that better addresses restroom design, particularly when it comes to a) gender-neutral concerns, b) health and safety concerns, such as toilet pluming and ventilation and c) improving plumbing system efficiency (e.g., fixture quantity and placement, pipe routing, etc.).
Task group members will participate via conference call or web meeting, provide their perspective on the code and assist in drafting recommendations for action by the UPC Technical Committee and other medical gas industry codes, standards and guidelines. Applicants are not required to be members of the UPC Technical Committee. It is anticipated that all meetings will be virtual but, if travel is required, meetings would be held at IAPMO World Headquarters (West) in Ontario, California.
In addition to plumbing industry professionals, participation is sought from architects, facilities personnel and ASHRAE/HVAC engineers.
